Welcome to stay at the
Falsterbo Bird Observatory.

The Bird Observatory Building is situated in the south-western part of the Falsterbo Park, between the church and the Town Museum (Street address: Sjögatan, Falsterbo - see road description below). The buildning serves primarily as staff accommodation.

However, there are five "sleeping-compartments" with a bunk bed in each, for rent, primarily for bird-watchers. A kitchen with full equipment, toilets, shower, washing machine (SEK 20 fee) and freezer (space allowing) are shared with the Bird Observatory staff.
Every guest is obliged to show the greatest consideration to the working staff and their demands.

During field seasons (21 March-10 June and 21 July-10 November), please phone only between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. At other times of the year, please phone in afternoons and evenings.

Check in between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. or according to agreement, however, not earlier than 5 p.m. Please bring your own sheets (no sleeping bags) and towels. There are sheets for rent (SEK 40/set).

The accommodation fee is SEK 130 per night and bed for members of the Ornithological Society of Scania (SkOF, member's fee SEK 190 per year) and SEK 160 per night and bed for others. If you don’t want to share your room with another person you must pay for two beds.

Cancelling is required if you can't come. Cancel as soon as possible and three (3) days before arrival at the latest. If not cancelled, you will be charged with accommodation fee (SEK 120 per night and bed) for the booked period.

Road description
If you arrive by bus you step off at the Falsterbo Grill Kiosk. At daylight you can walk through the Falsterbo Park to the Bird Observatory. Otherwise, the general path for motorists as well as others is to follow Östergatan to the end. There, turn right and then, just at the small square, turn left into Sjögatan and follow it until you pass the Museum. To the left there is a small track into the park. This track will lead you to the Bird Observatory.
